Our guide was great and got all of us on her raft involved (water fights, rowing, etc.). I also appreciated the camaraderie between the guides. They had fun and still watched out for each other. What a great group. I was very impressed. We did this as a mother/daughter trip. We had so much fun, we are planning on doing this again next year but bringing a bigger group. The bus driver kept us entertained, our guides were great, and the river experience phenomenal!

Westwater Canyon Colorado River Whitewater Rafting Tour > Class III & IV

Enjoy the serene solitude of Westwater Canyon surrounded by red sandstone spires. The Colorado River cascades through the ever-deepening sandstone monuments and into the narrow Black Granite Gorge. Here the river meets opposition from the canyon walls creating fast and furious rapids giving Westwater its reputation of highly exciting raft trips on the Colorado River.

This trip is designed for adventure seekers and canyon lovers and especially those looking for great rapids on a remote and regulated river, where there is a better chance of seeing wildlife and experiencing the true remoteness of the Westwater Canyon.

Named by National Geographic magazine as “The West’s Best Short Whitewater Trip,” Westwater Canyon is a spirited oar-powered and paddleboat trip* on the Colorado River.

Guides expertly row through exciting waves and swirling pools dwarfed by stunningly beautiful and unique black, gold, and red canyon walls. Hikes to historic cabins, mysterious caves, and Indian petroglyphs punctuate the river’s course. Rapids such as Funnel Falls, Skull Rapid, and Sock-it-to-Me provide plenty of excitement while calmer waters on the first and last part of the river offer a nice balance to the perfect day trip.

*Note: Water levels through Westwater Canyon fluctuate throughout the year providing varying levels of whitewater intensity based on the time selected. Use of paddle boats may depend on water levels. We reserve the right to not use paddleboats at certain water levels.

We had such a great time on Westwater Canyon Rafting. Our guides did an excellent job. We had a great trip!!!
