You’ll glide across the flat water with every bend of the river, as the sun hides behind the canyon walls, producing cooler temperatures. Along the way you’ll discover an Indian granary, petroglyphs, arches, and beautiful scenery. Then your skillful guide will turn the boat around and return to our private dock. Once back, you’ll enjoy a tasty Dutch Oven dinner and have the beauty of the sunset for dessert. This truly is a trip of a lifetime!
Sunset Jet Boat Tour Details
The Sunset Jet Boat Tour adventure begins at the Canyonlands by Night and Day riverside location (click for a map) two miles north of Moab, just north of the Colorado River. Once you board the boat you’ll be whisked away into a different world, filled with beautiful red rock cliffs above. While you’re on the trip your guide will explain a little about the geology and the history of the Canyonlands area. Forty-five minutes down river provides the turnaround spot and the you’ll travel back up river for the return trip to where dinner is served. The sunset jet boat travels approximately 36 miles round trip while on the water. The jet boat portion takes an hour and a half, with dinner lasting an hour, for the total time of 2.5 hours. Dutch Oven Dinner
The cowboy-style dinner is cooked all day to perfection and includes BBQ beef, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, roast beef, roast pork, cowpoke potatoes (cut potatoes with spring vegetables and cheese melted through), sweet baked beans, corn, homemade rolls (regular and garlic), a full salad bar (includes a green salad with all the toppings, a pasta salad and coleslaw), dessert, and bottomless soft drinks.
Beer, wine, and mixed drinks are available for purchase at the bar.
All items excluding the meat are vegetarian friendly.
Age Requirements
Sorry, we cannot accommodate children under the age of 4. To qualify for a youth price, your child must be between the ages of 4 – 12.
Frequently Asked Questions
After driving through the scenic Colorado River road, we arrived late afternoon in time to take the sunset jet boat cruise along the river. Our guide was a young man who gave us an amusing and informative commentary throughout the tour, and frequently stopped to allow us to take photographs of this incredibly beautiful stretch of river. The setting sun seemed to emphasise the depth of colour of the cliffs, which rose up on either side of the river and provided a wonderful contrast to the glass-like surface of the river.
The cruise was followed by a western style meal at the riverside restaurant. The food was plentiful and tasty. We had no complaints.”
