Ancestral Journeys - Native American Archeology Tour

Explore the Ancient Voices of the Southwest

Ancestral Journeys is a unique Native American Archaeology tour experience that invites you to discover the sacred landscapes, ancient stories, and enduring legacies of the Indigenous peoples of the Colorado Plateau. Presented by Canyonlands by Night and Day and guided by Native American archaeologist Don Montoya, MA, RPA, this immersive adventure offers an authentic look at the archaeology, rock imagery, and traditional knowledge systems of the Southwest.

Led by a Native American Archaeologist

Don Montoya brings decades of experience in cultural resource management, heritage preservation, and Native American studies. As a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) and educator, Don offers guests a rare opportunity to explore ancient sites through the eyes of a descendant and a scholar. His insight weaves together oral history, scientific knowledge, and spiritual tradition, offering a transformative journey into the past.
